FarmLand

What is FarmLand

FarmLand is unlike any other item in the Chickenverse. 5000 FarmLands were launched in the summer of 2022, there are an additional 15,000 that might be launched in three batches of 5000 if demand requires.

Each Farmland has the following characteristics:

  1. Bigness

  2. Fertility

  3. Resource Tiles (foraging)

Let us describe each of these in turn.

1. Bigness

Bigness represents the size of a FarmLand. Each one starts life at 1 bigness and can be upgraded using $EGG to a maximum of 120 bigness. Levelling up a FarmLand is similar to levelling up a Roostr. To increase the size by 1 bigness, you must burn the equivalent amount of $EGG. E.g. to level up from 15 to 16 Bigness. 15 $EGG must be burned.

Your FarmLand can be thought of as a container for storing the rewards earned from LP farming. The amount of $FEED (or other rewards) that a FarmLand can hold depends on its bigness. e.g. a16 bigness farm can hold 16000 $FEED. Once the FarmLand capacity is full you will need to claim your $FEED into yoru wallet before more $FEED can be earned. A 120 Bigness FarmLand is considered infinite and does not have a capacity limit.

2. Fertility

Fertility determines the reward multiplier applied to Liquidity Pool (LP) farming. Each FarmLand has a starting fertility of 4x, this can be increased in increments of 0.25 up to 16x. Each increase requires $FERT to be burned. As always in the Chiknverse, the higher the fertility multiplier already is, the more $FERT will be required to reach the next level.

Using AVAX-EGG LP farming as an example, the multiplier works as follows. Assuming $AVAX is worth $10 and $EGG is worth $1 you will need to provide equal value of each when staking the LP tokens. A simple example would be 20 Avax and 200 Egg meaning both sides are equal to $200. The daily rewards you receive in $FEED are determined by the number of $EGGs you have staked. In this case a FarmLand with a 4x fertility multiplier would earn 800 $FEED per day because 200 $EGG has been staked as part of the LP tokens.

Remember that changes in the price of $AVAX and $EGG will alter the amount of $AVAX and $EGG in the liquidity pool. You will aways have the same dollar value of each one, but the number of $AVAX and $EGG will change in accordance with the $AVAX/$EGG price ratio.

Staking of LP tokens by players means $EGG, $FERT and $FEED all have deep enough liquidity pools required for trading. This is a major benefit to the game's ecosystem because it improves the price stability of $EGG, $FERT and $FEED when trading occurs. The larger the total liquidity pool, the more stable the prices of each reward token will be.

3. Resource Tiles (foraging)

The resource tiles for each FarmLand are revealed gradually as you increase the Bigness. The first tile is revealed as soon as you increase to 2 Bigness, and then again at 5, 10, 15, 20 and so on. The 24th and final tile is revealed at 120 bigness, at which point the farm also becomes infinite. There are currently 39 tile variations, which can be found here on the main Chikn website. They are grouped into the same rarity categories as Chikns and Roostrs, i.e. Common, Nice, Rare, Elite and Legendary.

When Chikns and Rootrs are sent on foraging missions, they will return with some resources. The resources that can be foraged by your Chikns and Roostrs are dependent on what the tiles provide.  The ten resources available are currently Veg, Lumbar, Stone, Liquidium, Mana, Mech, Gold, Tungsten, Dark Matter and Avaxium.

The resources you collect can then be used to craft useful tools, weapons and items for improving your Chikn, Roostr or FarmLand.

When sending your flock out on a mission, the maximum number of Roostrs and Chikns that can forage is limited to the number of tiles your FarmLand has. e.g. a 120 Bigness will have 24 revealed tiles, meaning 24 birds can go on the foraging mission.
