What is $FERT? 
 

$FERT is another important part of the Chikn game's ecosystem, it has many uses that make it a valuable in-game commodity. Only Roostrs lay $FERT.

$FERT can be produced non-stop 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by Roosters, but you must remember to feed your Roostr one $EGG every 24 hours for it to continue producing $FERT. You can claim your $FERT from your Roostr Roost whenever you want, and as often as you want. Once claimed, the $FERT will be transferred into your private wallet.

From a technical perspective $FERT is just a cryptocurrency that exists on the Avalanche blockchain. $FERT does not have sell taxes or restrictions like some in-game cryptocurrency tokens do. You are free to buy, sell or exchange $FERT as you wish on a decentralised exchange such as Trader Joe without any additional fees.

 

Remember that $FERT can be used within the Chikn game for fertilizing FarmLand, or payment of Foraging fees. These uses are what prevents the total supply of $FERT increasing too much, thereby sustaining its price. Each time someone expands their FarmLand, or pays Foraging fees, that $FERT is burned. It is forever removed from circulation, causing a reduction in the total supply.
