What is a Roostr? 
 

There are 12,000 Roosters and each one lays $FERT every day. Roostrs were the second collection launched after Chikns. Only 12,000 will ever exist, no new ones will ever be created.

All Roostrs started off at 1kg in weight and laid 6 $FERT per day. However, since launch in April 2021, owners have been feeding their Roostrs to make them grow and lay more $FERT. For every 1kg increase, a Roostr will lay 2 more $FERT per day. This means a 30kg Roostr will lay 64 $FERT per day.

Each Roostr is unique and is made up of 8 traits. These 8 traits are; body, head, neck, torso, feet, tail, background and border. Some traits are rare while others are more common. Your Roostr's traits will determine its total rarity score which will fall into one of the following categories; common, nice, rare, elite or legendary.

Technically, each Roostr is a NFT (non-fungible token) that exists on the Avalanche blockchain. Therefore, when you buy a Roostr it belongs to you and only you. It is assigned to your wallet and cannot be accessed by anyone else.

Feeding Your Roostr

One important difference between Roostrs and Chikns is that Roostrs are fed using $EGG and not $FEED. To increase the size of a Roostr, you must feed it with an amount of $EGG. The amount required depends on the size of the Roostr. E.g. to level up a 30kg Rooster to 31kg, you need to feed it with 30 $EGG. $EGG will never run out, this means Roostrs can continue to grow indefinitely. There is no limit to the size a Roostr can reach.

it is important to know that Roostrs needs at least 1 $EGG every 24 hours to continue laying $FERT. If you don't feed your Roostr for 24 hours, it will become hungry and stop laying $FERT. The good news is that every $EGG you feed to your Rooster contributes towards levelling by one more kg. E.g. if you feed a 10kg Roostr 1 $EGG a day for 10 days, it will have consumed enough $EGG to be levelled up to 11kg.

Roostrs of all sizes and rarity can be bought and sold on the secondary marketplace, so even if you do not have a lot of $EGG for levelling up, you can still purchase a big fat $FERT squirtin' Roostr.

 

The $FERT produced by your Roostr can be converted into your favourite cryptocurrency. Or even better it can be used within the game for fertilizing your FarmLand, or as payment of Foraging fees.

In addition to laying $FERT, Roostrs can also forage for resources within a FarmLand, and will soon be able to breed with Chikns, enter Coq fights, and take part in various mini games within the Chiknverse.

To summarise, Roostrs are an important part of the Chiknverse, they have a variety of uses, and are the only ones that lay $FERT.
